Tom Anderson is a Chartered Banker who started his career in Glasgow, Scotland with the British Linen Bank. Anderson later moved to the Co-Operative Bank, where he managed the Bank’s Consumer Credit Operations, before taking up the position of Head of Technology Strategy for the Bank.
In 1989, he left the Bank to take up a Directorship with Thorn EMI where he successfully returned the Group’s ailing Finance House Operation to profit.
Having then been part of the team that successfully negotiated the Sale of the Finance Company, he was appointed Financial Services Director and Head of Credit and Risk for Thorn’s UK and European operations. During this time, he restructured the Group’s Credit Vetting Operations — securing a POS Agreement with CCN (now Experian), realigned Debt Recovery Operations, and developed and implemented the Group’s Customer Retention Strategy and its Direct Rental Business.
In 1995, he was appointed CEO of American Bankers UK and European Operation, during which time he successfully opened operations in Scandinavia and in Ireland.
In 2007/2008 Anderson was appointed as a Senior Consultant to develop and implement their new UK Collections Strategy Management Solution.
More recently, Anderson has worked as a Consultant — primarily with a Retired U.S. Ambassador on several projects, while retaining Directorships at Cash Card International — an Irish Company based in Dublin, Bray Capital Partners Limited — a UK Company, and Eden Memory Care Holdings — a Texas Company Headquartered in Houston that specializes in Memory Care Centers. Anderson is also former Chairman of Securranty Limited, a Specialist Warranty Administrator and Niche Insurer based in Houston.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts and has coordinated several projects for the RSA during their 250-year anniversary celebrations.
